I'm so sorry, Greg.

I had a lot of fun with you last night...I really did. You seemed so happy and...hungry! heh

And I wish with all of me that we had invited you to the movie afterwards...I'm sorry...

Be at peace, Greg. You were such an awesomely cool guy.

I listen to the wind
To the wind of my soul
Where I’ll end up well I think,
Only God really knows
I’ve sat upon the setting sun
But never, never, never, never
I never wanted water once
No, never, never, never

I listen to my words but
They fall far below
I let my music take me where
My heart wants to go
I swam upon the devil’s lake
But never, never, never, never
I’ll never make the same mistake
No, never, never, never.

- "These Eyes" <-- Mine and Justin's song! We so totally jammed to it in the car today when it was on the radio- TWICE!

Alrighty, this update is for Christine because she asked me to! I kinda have to get up early tomorrow so this can't be incredibly complicated, but here it is- woo woo!

Have some demotivation:

^ THS takin' em out right thurr, represent!

(More coming later...)

Well now I'm pumped, aren't you? Ye'ahhhh! And now that we're energized you can help me solve my dilemma...

I have two trip options over Spring Break (because everything happens at the same time...grrr), they are as follows:

1.) Go on band trip to Florida/Disney World.
Pros:  I get to hang with my band friends for one of the last real bonding times until I graduate and leave forever. It's gonna be a fun trip to Florida! Disney World! Woo! And we're staying actually in a Disney hotel- sweetness! Just general fun hanging out with my homie kids...yeah.
Cons: I'm non-revving which means I'm not guaranteed a seat and that is over spring break...hard to travel then...the flights look green now but who knows what it'll do when it gets closer. Freakin' loooooooong lines at Disney World since Donnor's an idiot and scheduled trip for spring break for the first time ever....stupid.

2.) Go to NYC to visit my cousin and check out NYU.
Pros: I get to hang out with my cousin in freakin NEW YORK CITY!! Without my parents!! And my cousin's actually on spring break at the same time as me so we can hang without law school stress on her. This would probably be the only time I could feasibly visit her. I do need to see NYU.
Cons: I miss band trip . I miss hanging out with my amazing friends for one of the last times. I miss the experience my senior year! I MISS MY FRIENDS!!

Please HELP ME decide!!!.....help.

Well, I'm going to Austin tomorrow to take the bro back and check out UT. Should be fun! (And by fun I mean freakishly boring...please call/text.)

Justin, please don't rape me.

Awwww memories! Here's some very BAND video clips from the state game. Just a few of my favorite game-time things:

1.) The rock-out session drum cadence. Introducing: Justin Whelan, Nathan Hicks, and Adam Lamb esq.

2.) LOWRIDER!! Whaaaaat! Unfortunatly Mr. Hart interrupted their awesomeness so there's a few shaky parts that weren't the trombones fault at all...so please allow for the intrusion. Poor Mr. Hart, that's the way I'll remember him in 30 years- kinda sad, alas:

3.) Yay Rambo! A true Trinity tradition.

Who's that man lookin' so mean
Runnin' through the jungle like a killin' machine
Got a gun in both hands, bazooka in his teeth
Look in his eye like he wants raw meat
If you see him coming you better lay low
Who's that man?
RAMBO!

(commence the hooplah) :

4.) And oh right! There's a football game going on. Woah! I forgot for a sec, we get caught up in the stands....but since the Haka clip from the field has been so widely distributed already (by myself included) I decided to submit one from a crowd perspective (that and my digital camera doesn't zoom while in video mode)...

But still I think it's pretty impresive how quiet and attentive the FULL crowd is and how incredibly loud the haka really is! Enjoy!

Score make Justin !

- "Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)"

Trinity State Champions!!!!

 WOOP WOOP!

You just can't beat the HAKA.

Good Job football guys- you deserved it .

This football season was the best time of my life EVER! But yesterday at 1pm was my last high school football game and my last step in a THS marching uniform, ever...and I felt it. I still have this strange indifferent feeling about the game...even as the clock counted down those last 10 seconds and the whole crowd rejoiced at the final I didn't feel blown away by happiness. It was cool, ya know...but for some reason it just wasn't there.

And I'm not sure why.

Perhaps because I realized that's it. That this chapter of my life is done. And, depending on where I go next year, that might possibly have been my last time to stand within a marching band.

I may have complained about the uncomfortable, hot uniforms and felt like skipping quite a few friday nights and cursed the sun every break of dawn morning at Pennington and grumbled through the sunburns and sweat and wanted to chunk my marching horn many times and fallen asleep at the contests...I'm still gonna miss it and the people within it.

Ya know, I already do.

- "(Just Like) Starting Over"

John Lennon
Oct. 9, 1940 - Dec. 8, 1980

25 years ago today...

And if I say I really knew you well
What would your answer be?
If you were here today.
Oh, here today.

Well knowing you,
You’d probably laugh and say that we were worlds apart.
If you were here today.
Oh, here today.

But as for me,
I still remember how it was before.
And I am holding back the tears no more.
I love you.

What about the time we met,
Well I suppose that you could say that we were playing hard to get.
Didn’t understand a thing.
But we could always sing.

What about the night we cried,
Because there wasn’t any reason left to keep it all inside.
Never understood a word.
But you were always there with a smile.

And if I say I really loved you
And was glad you came along.

If you were here today.
Oh, for you were in my song.
Oh, here today.

"Here Today" by Paul McCartney, composed for John Lennon.

"Everything just stopped (the night John was killed), like 9/11 or when they shot Kennedy or Martin Luther King. All of them were spokesmen for higher truth; all of them wanted to change this planet into a better place. That's why they got shot." -Carlos Santana

Perhaps if John were here today the world wouldn't seem quite so evil...
